Novant Health welcomes 1st pediatric neurosurgeon: 4 things to know

Novant Health Brain and Spine Surgery in Charlotte, N.C., welcomed Erin Kiehna, MD, according to The Mint Hill Times.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Dr. Kiehna is the first pediatric neurosurgeon to join Novant Health Brain and Spine Surgery. She comes to Novant Health from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

 

2. She specializes in brain and spinal cord tumors, spasticity, congenital anomalies, vascular malformations and spina bifida.

 

3. After earning her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., Dr. Kiehna completed her residency at University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville.

 

4. Dr. Kiehna underwent fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
