Norwalk (Conn.) Hospital, an affiliate of Elite Brain & Spine of Connecticut in Danbury, has named Joshua Marcus, MD, as chief of neurosurgery.
Dr. Marcus is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery and neurointerventional radiology, according to a May 28 news release. He is also chief of neurointerventional radiology at Danbury and Norwalk hospitals.
Dr. Marcus first joined the health system in 2016, later becoming the first surgeon in the state to perform joint replacement spine surgery using the TOPS System. His team also performed the first mechanical thrombectomy in Fairfield County, and helped introduce a biplane angiography system that revolutionizes brain aneurysm and stroke care.
Dr. Marcus will succeed Ramon Batson, MD, who served as section chief of neurosurgery.
