NorthShore University HealthSystem Names Dr. Julian Bailes Chair of Neurosurgery

Julian Bailes, MD, a neurosurgeon, has recently agreed to chair the NorthShore University HealthSystem department of neurosurgery and co-director of NorthShore Neurological Institute, according to a NorthShore University HealthSystem news release.

Dr. Bailes has a focus on neurovascular disease and conducts research on traumatic brain injury. Dr. Bailes is a founding member and director of Brain Injury Research Institute to focus on the study of traumatic brain injuries and prevention.

Dr. Bailes earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and completed his residency at Northwestern University in Chicago. He received additional training at Northwestern and the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
