Here are five key points:

1. Organizations rally public awareness about pain management during National Pain Awareness Month.

2. The awareness month was declared as September in 2001, with the American Pain Foundation Action Network seeking to remove the stigma associated with chronic pain.

3. North American Spine has done its part addressing pain, by providing the AccuraScope procedure.

4. The AccuraScope is a minimally invasive laser spine procedure to treat chronic back and lumbar, cervical and thoracic neck pain.

5. Demonstrating an 82 percent success rate, the AccuraScope procedure saves patients about $23,190 in out-of-pocket costs over five years, due to limited medical visits and medication.

“The stories of patients who wait in agony are troubling,” said Adam Arnette, North American Spine chief marketing officer. “Fortunately, this movement creates awareness of pain conditions and provides resources for people living with chronic pain.”
