St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, N.Y., opened its Center for Spine and Orthopedics.

Five spine surgeons and physiatrists with Commack, N.Y.-based Long Island Spine Specialists will see patients at the hospital’s spine center, according to an Aug. 20 news release.

The space includes private rooms, a family waiting area and a physical therapy and rehabilitation gym.

The hospital is also undergoing a $5 million operating room expansion to support complex spine cases. That expansion is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
