New York hospital named center of excellence for spine surgery

Rome (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital has been named a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, according to a Feb. 6 report from NBC affiliate WKTV.

Blue Distinction Center awardees have demonstrated expertise in several spine procedures, including cervical and lumbar fusion, cervical laminectomy and lumbar laminectomy/discectomy procedures. 

They also have fewer patient complications when compared with other hospitals, according to the report.
