New York Head and Neck Institute, Center for Cranial Base Surgery Open at North Shore-LIJ

Great Neck, N.Y.-based North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System announced the opening of the New York Head and Neck Institute and the Center for Cranial Base Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

The NYHNI provides diagnosis and treatment for a range of head and neck medical and surgical conditions through eight centers of excellence, each focused on a specific area of otolaryngology: head and neck oncology; cranial base surgery; sinus and nasal disorders; facial plastic and reconstructive surgery; sleep disorders; voice and swallowing disorders; thyroid and parathyroid surgery; and otology and hearing disorders.

Peter D. Costantino, MD, an expert in craniofacial reconstruction and cranial base tumor surgery, will serve as senior vice president of the health system’s head and neck service line, executive director of the NYHNI and director of the Center for Cranial Base Surgery.

Dr. Costantino will work with North Shore-LIJ’s Cushing Neuroscience Institute to develop integrated cranial base surgery programs at Lenox Hill Hospital, North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., and Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, N.Y.
