Edison, N.J.-based Redefine Healthcare has performed a robotic-assisted spine surgery in an ASC using the eCential Robotics platform.
Neurosurgeon David Wells-Roth, MD, completed the procedure March 5 at the Surgery Center of Hackensack (N.J.), according to an April 29 news release.
The platform combines real-time navigation with robotics to support minimally invasive spine procedures and had previously been limited to hospital settings.
The case marks an expansion of robotic spine technology into the ASC setting, potentially broadening access to complex procedures outside traditional inpatient environments.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
