New Globus Medical robot cleared for use with Actify knee system

Globus Medical earned FDA 510(k) clearance for the ExcelsiusFlex robot in combination with the Actify 3D total knee system, the devicemaker said July 17.

The Actify system pairs cementless reconstruction with operative efficiency and anatomic fit, according to a news release. It comes with a variety of implants and instruments for surgeons to pick from.

The ExcelsiusFlex robot earned FDA clearance in June. It is designed for total knee replacement and allows for robotically guided resections based on surgical plans.
