West Palm Beach, Fla.-based DISC Surgery Center at Palm Beach opened June 25 and is providing outpatient spine, orthopedic and interventional pain procedures.
Jason Cuéllar, MD, PhD, founding surgeon and medical director of the center, performed the first procedure that day. The ASC features technology for minimally invasive spine and musculoskeletal procedures and offers overnight recovery suites for patients who need additional observation, according to a June 26 news release.
The center is part of Dr. Cuéllar’s Cuéllar Spine practice, consolidating patient evaluation, diagnostics, surgery, rehabilitation and recovery into one outpatient setting.
The ASC is also preparing to join the limited U.S. rollout of 3Spine’s investigational Motus lumbar total joint replacement system, pending FDA approval. Dr. Cuéllar is expected to be one of five surgeons nationwide and the only one on the East Coast selected for the initial rollout, according to the release.
