Dr. Conley is in the neurological surgery department at Children’s Hospital and practices at Specialty Pediatric Center in Omaha. His departure coincides with the retirement of Children’s Hospital’s CEO Richard Azizkhan, MD, also planned for August.

Dr. Azizkhan recruited Dr. Conley to the hospital, among 150 other specialists. However, in January, two surgeons filed a lawsuit claiming they were suspended after reporting concerns to the administration about Dr. Conley. The two surgeons alleged the suspension occurred in retaliation for voicing their concerns. The lawsuit is ongoing and while Children’s Hospital and Medical Center does not comment on pending litigation, it did disagree with the allegations in January and issued a statement of support for both Dr. Azizkhan and Dr. Conley.
