Neurosurgeon creates spine surgical navigation app: 3 things to know

Board-certified neurosurgeon John Dorman, MD, developed Circinus, a spinal surgery navigation app, according to the Odessa American.

Three things to know:

1. Circinus uses a gyroscope to tell the surgeon the angle to put the screw in.

2. Dr. Dorman has used Circinus in more than 100 cases and recently received a patent for the app.

3. He is currently using Circinus for spine surgery but seeks to expand it to brain surgery.
