A recent report from Rosman Search already predicts that neurosurgery is expected to have a shortage of 1,200 physicians by 2025, as 49% of active specialists are at least 55 years old.

Around 40% of neurologists report feeling burned out in 2024, while around 20% report feeling depressed, according to the Medscape report.

Almost half of neurologists (48%) report feeling burned out for more than two years. The largest contributor to neurologist burnout is too many bureaucratic tasks.
