The institute will be led by William J. Sonstein, MD, a senior partner at Neurological Surgery. The institute offers ultrasound and radiofrequency technologies to shorten surgery times and reduce complications during spine procedures. It offers treatments for herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and spine tumors, among other conditions.

“Unlike laser surgery, which is only used to remove soft tissues, ultrasound and radiofrequency technologies can be used as a major part of many spinal procedures,” said Dr. Sonstein.
