Nebraska high schools honor retired neurosurgeon Dr. Behrouz Rassekh

Retired neurosurgeon Behrouz Rassekh, MD, and his wife Christiane Rassekh were honored by the trade areas at Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln High Schools in Council Bluffs, Iowa, reports The Daily NonPareil.

Four things to know:

1. The trade areas at the high schools will be renamed “The Behrouz and Christiane Rassekh Foundation TradeWorks Academy Learning Facility” after their donation to help fund its remodeling.

2. Dr. Rassekh practiced neurosurgery in Council Bluffs for 32 years before he retired in 2004.

3. He completed residencies at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

4. Dr. Rassekh’s practice was at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. He had hospital privileges at Myrtue Hospital in Harlan, Iowa, and other area hospitals.
