MUMC Participates in Trial of Facet Joint Replacement as Spinal Stenosis Treatment

The Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga., has joined a clinical trial examining the efficacy of facet joint replacement as a treatment for lumbar spinal stenosis, according to a report by The Creative Coast.

The trial will focus on the ACADIA Facet Replacement System, which is designed to be an alternative to spinal fusion.

MUMC is one of 30 hospitals in the U.S. participating in the clinical trial.
