Here are five things to know:
1. The health system acquired Central Ohio Neurological Surgeons after nearly half of the practice’s six surgeons left for OhioHealth in Columbus.
2. OhioHealth opened a nine-story neurosurgery-focused expansion last summer.
3. The practice’s remaining physicians are not employed by the health system, but they signed professional services agreement saying they would practice at only Mount Carmel facilities.
4. The health system has also assumed leases for the practice’s main office in Westerville as well as satellite offices in Newark, Springfield and Marietta, all in Ohio.
5. Central Ohio Neurological Surgeons has been re-named Mount Carmel Central Ohio Neurological Surgeons.
