Hamid Abbasi, MD, a neurosurgeon at Inspired Spine in Burnsville, Minn., has completed more than 2,000 trans-Kambin oblique lateral lumbar interbody fusion procedures.

In addition, Dr. Abbasi has overseen more than 50,000 patient follow-up visits after OLLIF procedures, according to a June 10 news release.

The minimally invasive procedure offers several benefits, including lessening patient infection risks, blood loss and recovery times.

Dr. Abbasi first began performing OLLIF procedures in 2012, and has trained over 150 surgeons worldwide in the technology.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
