Michigan spine group to add 1st neurosurgeon: 4 things to know

Livonia, Mich.-based Mendelson Kornblum group will welcome Brian Fiani, DO, as its first neurosurgeon in 2023.

Four things to know about Dr. Fiani:

1. Dr. Fiani will take the job after a fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, according to a July 6 email to Becker’s.

2. He was named to several positions at medical societies. The North American Spine Society named him to three committee positions: the spine political action committee advisory committee, the legislative committee and the political engagement committee.

3. He is the youngest member of the American Osteopathic Association board of trustees at 31. He is also vice chair of its bureau of emerging leaders.

4. Dr. Fiani was named to Palm Springs Life’s “40 Under 40” list in 2022.
