The department is labeled for neurosciences to denote the collaboration between spine surgeons and neurosurgeons. Michael P. Steinmetz, MD, will chair the new department, which has a goal of providing easily accessible coordinated care for its patients.
The five additional surgeons involved are all fellowship trained and will collaborate with the ancillary medical specialists at the hospital for patient care.
