William Mitchell, MD, is the new president of the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Mitchell, a private practice surgeon at Neurological & Spinal Specialists in Marlton, N.J., has been a member of NASS for 21 years. He earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and completed his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
“Spine care is evolving all the time, and we will continue working hard to advance NASS’ mission of furthering high quality, ethical and evidence-based spine care,” Dr. Mitchell said in a Nov. 14 news release. “We are committed to meeting health care’s obstacles head on and doing our part to support physicians and patients alike.”
Dr. Mitchell has been awarded the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Spinal Clinical Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Along with NASS, he is part of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
