Medivis has earned FDA clearance for its spine navigation platform, ahead of its commercial launch in the U.S.

The platform can be used for both orthopedic and neurosurgery, utilizing augmented reality and artificial intelligence to provide surgeons holographic navigation across open and minimally invasive spine procedures, according to an April 2 news release.

The new platform combines proprietary computer vision algorithms, AI segmentation, real-time data analysis and advanced image processing. It offers lightweight hardware and voice commands and pairs with intuitive instrumentation, allowing Medivis’ technology to integrate with spinal hardware and imaging systems across other major vendors.

It will be able to easily deploy across health systems and ASCs, according to the release.
