Louisville Medical Center physicians perform spine surgery on Virginia running back

Physicians at the University of Louisville (Ky.) Medical Center have performed spine surgery on Virginia running back Perris Jones after he was injured in the third quarter of the team’s 11th game of the season, according to a Nov. 11 report from ABC affiliate WHAS.

Mr. Jones was injured while running upfield, facing a hard hit on his helmet. He was carted off of the field, but was able to briefly walk and move his extremities, according to the report. 

He remains under care with the UofL Health team and will be transferred to the Frazier Rehabilitation Institute.
