Kessler Foundation adds director for spinal stimulation center

The Kessler Foundation in East Hanover, N.J., named Susan Harkema, PhD, as director of the Tim and Caroline Reynolds Center for Spinal Stimulation starting Oct. 1, according to a Sept. 12 news release.

In the newly created role, she will develop and expand research on spinal transcutaneous and epidural implant stimulation in the U.S. and globally.

Dr. Harkema is nationally recognized for her research in spinal cord injury, neural plasticity and neuromodulation. She previously worked as a neurosurgery and neurology professor at University of Louisville in Kentucky.
