James Lynch, MD, became the first surgeon to perform 100 cases with Augmedics' Xvision augmented reality spine system, according to a Sept. 28 news release from Reno-based Spine Nevada.

Dr. Lynch performed his first Xvision case in June 2020 at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. His 100th case was an L3-L4 lateral fusion completed Sept. 23.

"We feel privileged to be working with Dr. Lynch. He's been committed to using our technology on fusion cases and has provided invaluable feedback on Xvision," Augmedics Chief Commercial Officer Tim Murawski said.

Xvision utilizes a headset that helps surgeons determine the position of surgical tools in real time. It's designed for better, faster and safer surgeries, according to the company.
