From two transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion devices to an augmented reality spine system, here are four surgeons who introduced new technologies in the past month:

1. Richard Fessler, MD, PhD, performed a minimally invasive TLIF with two implants that were relaunched after Spinal Elements acquired Benvenue Medical.

2. Neurosurgeon Sharad Rajpal, MD, completed Louisville, Colo.-based Centura-Avista Adventist Hospital's first spinal fusion involving Midas Rex high-speed drills with Medtronic's Mazor robot.

3. The first augmented reality-assisted spine surgery in Georgia was completed by Justin Bundy, MD, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

4. Christopher Ames, MD, and Patrick Maloney, MD, performed the first spine surgery with Carlsmed's aprevo, a patient-specific interbody for the treatment of adult spinal deformity.
