Newport Beach, Calif-based DISC Sports and Spine Center added two new physicians to its team, according to a Nov. 30 press release.

Neel P. Shah, MD, serves as a spine surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and microscopic surgery. According to the practice's website, he did an orthopedic surgery residency at Rutgers University in Newark, N.J. and a spine surgery fellowship at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to work under Dr. [Robert] Bray and fine-tune my skills to be more proficient with microsurgery," Dr. Neel Shah said in the release. "What DISC is doing with minimally invasive spine surgery in an outpatient setting is especially important during this pandemic, as it is allowing patients to seek top-quality care while avoiding hospitals."

Puja Shah, MD, is a double board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain management specialist and chief physician of pain management at Long Beach (Calif.) VA Healthcare System. She performs interventional procedures for spine pathology, chronic nerve, joint and pelvic pain, among other treatment areas.

"I look forward to sharing Dr. Bray’s vision of helping anyone from world-class athletes to those new to physical fitness achieve their personal goals of pain management and optimal health," Dr. Puja Shah said. "And what an honor it is to be joining such a prestigious practice with no other than my husband."
