From a family duo training with robotic surgery to a neurosurgeon performing a procedure with augmented reality, here are the latest spine surgeons making headlines:

A father and son spine surgical team were among the first to be trained with the ExcelsiusGPS robot at the Spine Center at MemorialCare Long Beach (Calif.) Medical Center.

Michael Wang, MD, professor of neurological surgery and chief of neurosurgery at UHealth Tower in Miami, is reportedly the first spine surgeon in Florida to perform a procedure using augmented reality.

University of California San Francisco neurosurgeon Edward Chang, MD, has been elected to the National Academy of Medicine.
