Here are seven spine and neurosurgeons making the news this week:

James Chappuis, MD, filed a lawsuit against Emory Healthcare and Daniel Refai, MD.

Plano-based Texas Back Institute fellow John Burleson, MD, discussed what's next for his practice and the future of the spine field. 

James Lin, MD, of New York City-based Mount Sinai Hospital led a study that looks to provide a more reliable classification system for adult idiopathic scoliosis.

Police in Mobile, Ala., are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a medical student at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Neurosurgeon Jonathan Nakhla, MD, survived the crash and was identified by police as the driver of the car.

Heather Pinckard-Dover, MD, became the first female neurosurgeon to complete the residency program at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Columbus, Ohio-based OrthoNeuro appointed Larry Todd Jr., DO, as president.
