Here are five spine surgeons making headlines this week:

Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics appointed Alan Daniels, MD, as chief of its spine surgery division.

Bradford Currier, MD, performed surgery on Pittsburgh Penguins forward Nick Bjugstad.

Baptist Health Neuroscience Center-Fort Smith (Ark.) onboarded Arthur Johnson, MD.

Steven Zielinski, MD, was reportedly the first spine surgeon in the U.S. to perform a new lumbar spinal fusion procedure.

Centerline Biomedical welcomed Peter Rasmussen, MD, to its advisory board.
