Japanese neurosurgeon Phyo Kim, MD, PhD, traveled to Noblesville, Ind.-based RiverView Hospital to observe Hamid Abbasi, MD, performing an oblique lateral lumbar interbody fusion, the Crookston Times reports.

2. Dr. Phyo Kim heard about the procedure when Dr. Sunny Kim gave a lecture on it in Seoul, South Korea.
3. Dr. Phyo Kim hopes to perform his first OLLIF in Japan in the next few years.
