Dr. Nitin Khanna, Franciscan Health to study treatment for lumbar spinal stenosis

Spine surgeon Nitin Khanna, MD, and Franciscan Health are participating in a national study on the long-term prognosis for patients who undergo micro decompression surgery to treat lumbar spinal stenosis, according to local radio station WIMS AM.

Four quick points:

1. A published research author, Dr. Khanna was selected as a co-investigator in the multicenter study.

2. He will analyze decompression surgery patients' outcomes over the next five years.

3. The study could help shed light on treatment options for spinal stenosis, according to Dr. Khanna. "This has the opportunity to be a landmark study once it's completed," he said.

4. Franciscan Health has multiple locations throughout Indiana and one in Illinois.
