Alabama

University of Alabama at Birmingham named Steven Theiss, MD, chairman of the department of orthopedics.

Arkansas

Mercy Hospital Fort Smith (Ark.) hired Ken Foxx, MD, and Kate Foxx, MD.

Washington Regional Medical Center's Northwest Arkansas Neuroscience Institute in Fayetteville welcomed Brent Peterson, DO, and Daniel Shepherd, MD, to its team.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock welcomed neurosurgeon Thomas Whitfield Morris III, MD, to its staff.

California

Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, Calif., named Kevin Shae, MD, the Chambers-Okamura Endowed Professor of Pediatric Orthopaedics.

Thousand Oaks-based California Institute of Neuroscience welcomed Ha Son Nguyen, MD, a neurosurgeon.

Colorado

Domenic Esposito, MD, joined Durango, Colo.-based Animas Orthopedic Associates.

Connecticut

Neurosurgeon Mark Hornyak, MD, joined The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Conn., and the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute in Norwich.

Neurosurgeon Mohamad Khaled, MD, also joined the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute, seeing patients at the Hartford and Enfield, Conn., locations.

Delaware

Dawn Tartaglione, DO, a neurosurgeon, joined Dover, Del.-based Bayhealth Neurosurgery as medical director.

Bayhealth Neurosurgery in Dover, Del., hired Amit Goyal, MD, a neurosurgeon who completed his fellowship at the Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery in Sydney, Australia.

Florida

Thomas J. Errico, MD, joined Miami-based Nicklaus Children's Hospital.

Morgan Lorio, MD, joined Advanced Orthopedics, a practice that serves south and central Florida.

Georgia

Arthritis Total Joint Specialists in Lawrenceville, Ga., welcomed Robert Wood, MD.

Spine surgeon Keith Osborn, MD, joined Cummings, Ga.-based Northside Hospital Orthopaedic Institute.

Former Tampa, Fla.-based Laser Spine Institute surgeon Reginald Davis, MD, joined BioSpine Institute in Tampa.

Tampa, Fla.-based Physician Partners of America welcomed spine surgeons Stefan Prada, MD, Keith Girton, MD, and Brett Menmuir, MD, all of whom previously practiced at Tampa-based Laser Spine Institute before it closed.

Hawaii

Wailuku, Hawaii-based Maui Health System added two neurosurgeons: Joe Ulloth, MD, and Christopher Taleghani, MD.

Illinois

Springfield-based The Orthopedic Center of Illinois welcomed Varun Sharma, MD.

Maryland

Neurosurgeon Jared J. Marks, MD, joined Johns Hopkins Neurosurgery and Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md.

Massachusetts

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth (Mass.) welcomed Aubrey Okpaku, MD, to its spine care and neurosurgery center in Plymouth.

Michigan

Mark Warner, MD, resigned his post at Sheridan (Mich.) Community Hospital one year after joining.

Neurosurgeon Timothy Spencer, DO, joined Mount Pleasant, Mich.-based McLaren Central Michigan.

Minnesota

Mark Ghaida, MD, joined Crookston, Minn.-based RiverView Health.

Missouri

Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis named Gregory J. Zipfel, MD, head of the department of neurosurgery.

New York

Albany, N.Y.-based The Bone & Joint Center welcomed Ernest Chisena, MD, Abigail Mantica, MD, and Patrick Marinello, MD.

Hand surgeon Michelle Moyer, MD, joined Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based Orthopaedic Associates of Dutchess County.

North Dakota

Grand Forks, N.D.-based Altru Health System welcomed neurosurgeon N. Garrett Powell, MD, who has a special interest in treating brain and spine tumors, degenerative spine conditions and complex spinal disorders.

Ohio

Michael Veale, MD, joined Cleveland-based Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics.

Norwalk, Ohio-based Fisher-Titus Health added Tim Moore, MD, to its spine surgery staff.

Neurosurgeon Mark White, MD, joined Columbus-based OrthoNeuro.

David Propst, DO, a fellowship-trained spine surgeon, joined Premier Orthopedics in Dayton, Ohio.

Toomas Anton, MD, joined Western Reserve Hospital Physicians Neurosurgery in Akron, Ohio.

Oklahoma

Spine surgeon Andrew Parkinson, MD, moved his practice seven miles north to a location across from the Oklahoma Spine Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Doug Beacham III, DO, joined The Spine Clinic of Oklahoma City.

Pennsylvania

Penn Highlands DuBois (Pa.) welcomed Ghassan Bejjani, MD.

Penn Medicine opened a new $10 million spine center at Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Hospital and named William Welch, MD, medical director.

Rhode Island

Fatima Hospital in North Providence, R.I., named John Czerwein Jr., MD, chief of orthopedics.

South Dakota

Michael Holmoe, MD, joined Avera Orthopedics in Brookings, S.D.

Vermont

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Orthopedics and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Physicians, both based in Bennington, Vt., welcomed Michaela Schneiderbauer, MD.

Bennington-based Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Orthopedics welcomed Ivette Guttmann, MD.

Washington

Sports medicine specialist James Chesnutt, MD, joined Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery in Vancouver, Wash.

Chad Bender, MD, joined Centralia-based Washington Orthopaedic Center.

Fellowship-trained spine surgeon Venu Nemani, MD, PhD, joined Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.

Wyoming

Daniel White, MD, of Casper (Wyo.) Orthopedics now sees patients at Johnson County (Wyo.) Memorial Hospital.
