10 spine, neurosurgeon moves in May 2019

Ten spine and neurosurgeons joined new hospitals or practices across the U.S. over the past month.

Fellowship-trained spine surgeon Venu Nemani, MD, PhD, joined Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.

Neurosurgeon Mark Hornyak, MD, joined The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Conn., and the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute in Norwich. Neurosurgeon Mohamad Khaled, MD, also joined the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute, seeing patients at the Hartford and Enfield, Conn., locations.

Tampa, Fla.-based Physician Partners of America welcomed spine surgeons Stefan Prada, MD, Keith Girton, MD, and Brett Menmuir, MD, all of whom previously practiced at Tampa-based Laser Spine Institute before it closed.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock welcomed neurosurgeon Thomas Whitfield Morris III, MD, to its staff.

David Propst, DO, a fellowship-trained spine surgeon, joined Premier Orthopedics in Dayton, Ohio.

Toomas Anton, MD, joined Western Reserve Hospital Physicians Neurosurgery in Akron, Ohio.

Grand Forks, N.D.-based Altru Health System welcomed neurosurgeon N. Garrett Powell, MD, who has a special interest in treating brain and spine tumors, degenerative spine conditions and complex spinal disorders.
