Connecticut hospital adds Dr. Mark Hornyak to its staff

Neurosurgeon Mark Hornyak, MD, has joined The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Conn., and the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute, also in Norwich, reports local newspaper The Day.

Dr. Hornyak's areas of expertise include primary brain tumors, tumors of the spine, pituitary tumors, degenerative spinal disorders and peripheral nerve disorders.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md., and completed his internship and residency in neurosurgery at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y.

Dr. Hornyak is fellowship-trained in skull base surgery from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
