Antoine Tohmeh, MD, joined the MultiCare Neuroscience Institute, a Tacoma, Wash.-based practice focused on treating brain and spine injuries and conditions.
Four things to know:
1. The MultiCare Neuroscience Institute, a physician-governed organization founded in 2017, has a spine care, stroke and neurovascular care center of excellence. The center also includes neurology. Dr. Tohmeh will strengthen the practice's complex and minimally invasive spine program.
2. Dr. Tohmeh has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preservation and adult spinal deformity. He completed his residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore and a spine surgery fellowship though the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
3. MNI aims to improve spine care while reducing costs by focusing on appropriate hospital stays, fewer complications and using advanced technologies for patient benefit. The group also coordinates care across all disciplines.
4. MNI provides care at eight hospitals in Washington and includes more than 18,000 team members.
