Neurosurgeon David Baker, MD, has been reprimanded by the Washington Department of Health for his behavior toward staff and patients at Arlington, Wash.-based Skagit Regional Health, according to a KGMI report.
Here are five things to know:
1. The department cited Dr. Baker's "offensive," "condescending" and "rude" behavior when deciding to take disciplinary action. The report did not outline specific actions taken by Dr. Baker.
2. In addition to behavior, the department stated that Dr. Baker has not proven he completed continuing education, which is required.
3. Dr. Baker has provided medical care for patients at Skagit Regional Health for nearly 30 years, joining the group in 1989.
4. Dr. Baker has a professional interest in minimally invasive spine surgery and sacroiliac joint fusion. He has served as president of the Whatcom County Medical Society and chief of surgery at Bellingham, Wash.-based St. Joseph Hospital.
5. Dr. Baker is a senior partner with Bellingham-based Fourth Corner Neurosurgical Associates.
