Neurosurgeon opens practice in New York: 5 takeaways

Nicholas Qandah, DO, opened a private practice in Canton, N.Y., according to North Country Now.

Here are five takeaways:

1. Dr. Qandah also has privileges at Canton-Potsdam (N.Y.) Hospital.

2. As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Qandah will also collaborate with neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, pain management physicians and physiatrists at CPH.

3. Board-certified, Dr. Qandah earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale.

4. Currently, Dr. Qandah serves as the neurosurgery director at Mohawk Valley Health System's St. Luke Hospital and at St. Elizabeth Hospital — Mohawk Valley Health System, both in Utica, N.Y.

5. Dr. Qandah is a member of the American Board of Osteopathic Neurosurgery.
