Dr. Jared Ament joins Sierra Neuroscience Institute: 5 things to know

Jared Ament, MD, recently joined Los Angeles-based Sierra Neuroscience Institute.

Here are five things to know:

1. Dr. Ament is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who focuses his practice on minimally invasive spine and brain surgeries. He has experience with neuronavigation and robotics as well as motion preservation.

2. Prior to joining Sierra Neuroscience Institute, Dr. Ament spearheaded large projects in the U.S., Egypt, Jordan, Ethiopia, Sudan, Ecuador and Bolivia. His research interests include cost-effectiveness, cost utility analyses, economic modeling, decision analysis, international surgery and medical education.

3. Dr. Ament joined Sierra Neuroscience Institute as the director of spine neurosurgery and director of economic outcomes research.

4. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ament is the president and founder of Neuronomics, a professional corporation focused on cost-effectiveness analyses in neurosciences. He also serves on the board for the Institute for NeuroInnovation.

5. Dr. Ament earned his medical degree at the Medical School for International Health, a collaboration between Israel-based Ben-Gurion University and New York City-based Columbia University. He also completed a master of public health degree at Boston-based Harvard School of Public Health and underwent fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
