Datta Endoscopic Center welcomes 2 spine surgeons

New York City-based Datta Endoscopic Back Surgery and Pain Center welcomed orthopedic spine surgeons Francis A. Pflum, MD, and Sunil Kukreja, MD.

Here are four things to know:

1. Dr. Pflum specializes in orthopedic and arthroscopic spine surgery. He has performed thousands of arthroscopic procedures and authored a study on cervical spine arthroscopy published in The Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Surgery.

2. After earning his medical degree from and completing a residency at Newark-based University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Dr. Pflum underwent fellowship training in orthopedic surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine and pediatric orthopedic surgery at New England Medical Center, both based in Boston.

3. Dr. Kukreja specializes in simple and complex spine surgery, including microdiscectomy and laminectomy, minimally invasive and open transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and scoliosis surgeries.

4. Dr. Kukreja underwent fellowship training in:

• Surgical management of common spinal ailments at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport
• Complex and deformity spinal procedures at The Ohio State University in Columbus
• Orthopedic and spine surgery at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital
• Minimally invasive spinal surgery fellowship at University at Buffalo in New York City
