Cincinnati-based Mayfield Brain & Spine settled a lawsuit with Mario Zuccarello, MD, over a contract dispute, according to Cincinnati Business Courier.

Here are four key notes.

1. Dr. Zuccarello was a member of Mayfield Brain & Spine, with part of his contract being a non-compete clause. When Dr. Zuccarello became employed by University of Cincinnati Physicians, Mayfield sought to prevent him from practicing through the Hamilton County judge.

2. When Dr. Zuccarello was ordered to stop practicing medicine, he was unable to provide care at several facilities including University of Cincinnati Medical Center and UC Health hospital system-affiliated facilities.

3. After settling the suit, Dr. Zuccarello can now resume practicing medicine and seeing patients at the UC Health clinic. The settlement modified non-compete restrictions, which will be in affect through Jan. 13, 2019, and he will be able to practice without restrictions.

4. Both sides will pay their own attorneys fees.
