Here are four spine and neurosurgeons making headlines.

Chief neurosurgeon for the Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Christopher Roberts, DO, was in charge of triage as patients arrived at the hospital after the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland,  the second mass shooting Dr. Roberts has responded to in 13 months.

 

Neurosurgeon Dr. Kim Keung-Nyun at Severance Hospital in Seoul, South Korea led the team which successfully performed spinal surgery using Medtronic's O-ARM O2 imaging system and Stealth Station, the accompanying navigation system.

 

Colorado Springs (Colo.) Orthopedic Group spine surgeon Roger Sung, MD, is treating patients chronic pain and reducing opioid dependency with the Nevro HF10.

 

The American Association of Neurological Surgeons will present Jack Rock, MD, with the Humanitarian Award at its annual conference this year.
