The Michelson 20MM Foundation and The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship have entered a partnership.
Here are six takeaways:
1. The partnership involves a multicampus pilot as a part of The Michelson Intellectual Property Initiative, Michelson IP.
2. Spine surgeon Gary K. Michelson, MD, founded Michelson IP as a way to support and invest in affordable and effective entrepreneurs, technologies and initiatives.
3. The foundation introduced Michelson IP in 2016 to boost intellectual property knowledge and support young innovators.
4. Michelson IP provides insight on patents, trademarks, copyright and trade secrets.
5. Santa Monica (Calif.) College will create the syllabus and modular content for the IP program.
6. Participating institutions include:
• Butte College in Oroville, Calif.
• College of Marin in Kentfield, Calif.
• Glendale Community College in Glendale, Calif.
• Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio
• Santa Rosa (Calif.) Junior College
• CUNY Queensborough Community College in Bayside, N.Y.
