Tahoe Orthopedics welcomes spine specialists Dr. Zackary Child: 5 insights

Zackary Child, MD, joined the Tahoe Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., according to South Tahoe Now.

Here are five insights:


1. Dr. Child is board certified in spine surgery and musculoskeletal oncology.


2. Previously, Dr. Child served as an orthopedic surgery, spine surgery and musculoskeletal oncology professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.


3. Dr. Child subspecializes in chronic back pain, injury prevention, trauma, spinal cord injuries, complex adult deformities, artificial disc replacement and spinal cord infections.


4. After earning his medical degree from the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine, Dr. Child completed his residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.


5. Dr. Child underwent fellowship training in spine surgery at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and another in orthopedic oncology at the Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital.
