A Ministry of Health official reported Kenya needs 60 more neurosurgeons to meet the World Health Organization's standards, according to Business Daily.
Here are three observations:
1. Kenya has 18 neurosurgeons treating 45 million Kenyans. A decade ago, the country only had two neurosurgeons.
2. The WHO encourages countries possess one neurosurgeon for every 200,000 people.
3. The country is experiencing a spike in neurosurgery cases due to road accidents.
