Spine surgeon John G. Peters, MD, is joining Indianapolis-based Methodist Sports Medicine, The Southside Times reports.
Here's what you need to know.
1. Dr. Peters has more than 30 years experience in the spine surgeon field.
2. He practiced for 20 years in Indianapolis before leaving in 2008 to serve as the medical director for Medtronic Spine in Memphis, Tenn. He retired in 2011 but continued his education to stay on top of the medical trends.
3. Dr. Peters' career began after he earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed his internship and residency at the Grand Rapids (Mich.) Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program, before he completed a fellowship at Cleveland's Case Western Reserve University.
4. He is relishing the opportunity to return to practice at Methodist, saying it's a "thrill."
