SMISS unveils Dr. Chris Ahmad as keynote speaker at 2016 annual forum — 7 highlights

Chris Ahmad, MD, will present the keynote at the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Annual Forum '16 on Oct. 14 in Las Vegas.

Here are seven highlights:

 

1. One of the most well-respected spine surgeons in the country, Frank Phillips, MD, of Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, serves as the chairman of the forum, and is pleased to welcome Dr. Ahmad as the keynote speaker. 

 

2. Dr. Ahmad will deliver the lecture: "SKILL: Principles that Surgeons, Athletes, and other Elite Performers use to Achieve Mastery."

 

3. Specializing in ACL knee injuries, meniscus and cartilage injuries, instability and labral tears of the shoulder and rotator cuff pathology, Dr. Ahmad performs Tommy John surgery and arthroscopic surgical techniques for knee, shoulder and elbow sports injuries.

 

4. An orthopedic surgery professor at New York City-based Columbia University Medical Center, Dr. Ahmad is also an attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, also in New York City.

 

5. He serves as the head team physician for both the New York Yankees and the New York City Football Club.

 

6. Dr. Ahmad completed his orthopedic surgery sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

 

7. The forum runs from Oct. 13 to Oct. 15.
