Drs. Anne Normand, Said Osman & more: 9 spine surgeons in the headlines this week

Here are nine spine surgeons and neurosurgeons in the news this past week.

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond named Alex Valadka, MD, as chair of the department of neurosurgery.

 

Said Osman, MD, of Frederick, Md.-based American Spine, performed the first endoscope lamino-foraminoplasty surgery with decompression of the nerve root.

 

Neurosurgeon Cynthia Zane Africk, MD, joined FirstHealth Neurosurgery. She has more than 20 years of experience in spine, brain and peripheral nerves.

 

Khoi Tran, MD, will now see patients at Longview (Wash.) Orthopedic Associates.

 

Oklahoma City-based INTEGRIS added neurosurgeon Nate Stetson, DO, to its physician team.

 

Beverly Hospital added Anne Normand, MD, to its medical staff. She specializes in spinal stenosis, disc herniations, spondylolisthesis, tumors of bone and soft tissue and scoliosis.

 

Ryan S. Reeves, MD, and Eric J. Coligado, MD, of Spine Team Texas have been included in MSP Communications exclusive list of esteemed physicians.

 

Neurosurgeon Steven Gill, MB, of the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom, plans to speak with petroleum engineers to advance treatment of adolescent brain tumor. He sees a correlation between his convection-enhanced delivery system and methods used to extract oil and gas.
