Spine surgeon Dr. Carl Giordano injured in plane crash: 6 key notes

Carl Giordano, MD, of Atlantic Spine Specialists, has been injured in a small single-engine plane crash, according to a Daily Record report.

Here are six key notes:


1. Dr. Giordano was injured in the plane crash on Long Island. The pilot was killed.


2. Dr. Giordano broke his jaw and sustained cuts and bruises.


3. He is an orthopedic spine surgeon.


4. He completed his orthopedic residency, as well as a spinal reconstructive fellowship, at NYU's Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York.


5. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society and Morris County Orthopedic Society.


6. The Federal Aviation Administration  stated the National Transportation Safety Board will determine the cause of the crash.
