American Spine to host endoscopic training course: 4 notes

Spine

American Spine Center will host its 21st endoscopic training course and spine symposium on August 21, 2015.

Here are four notes:

1. The training course, 'Endoscopic Operations of the Lumbar, Thoracic Spine Symposium with Live Operation and Cadaver Workshop," will be held in Frederick, Md.

2. Said Osman, MD, Sandeep Sherlekar, MD, Atif B. Malik, MD, and Ojedapo Ojeyemi, MD, will present at the symposium.

3. The symposium will focus on cervical, thoracic and lumbar disc herniation resulting in discectomy.

4. At the training course, physicians will use a one-centimeter incision to access the disc endoscopically, which reduces healing time and long-term issues.

4. American Spine specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, and heavily relies on the endoscope as opposed to the operating microscope.
